I see lines and wrinkles on my face and around my eyes.

As we age we naturally form lines and wrinkles around our face and eyes. But what exactly are they?

1. Sleep lines. These are lines and wrinkles that form on our face from the compression of our face as we lie on our pillow during sleep. Their location can be determined by the location of the attachments of muscles and nerves on our face, but sleep lines can form around our forehead, around the eyes, face and lips.

2. Expression lines. These form anywhere on our face that contracts when we form a facial expression. For example when we smile we draw up our face into a facial expression, and so this naturally forms lines where the skin wrinkles, for example around the edges of our eyes.

We smile, and form lots of other facial expressions many times each day, and over time these add up to create lines and wrinkles in these places. Of course this is determined by how your face moves when you form a facial expression, and also by what expressions you use most often. They can form anywhere on your face, including around the eyes.

3 Wrinkles formed by gravity. Gravity cannot be escaped, and as we age the effects of gravity become more marked. Gravity pulls our skin on our face downwards, and over time this gets worse and worse. When we are young our naturally young and more elastic skin resists the effects of gravity, but as we age our ability to fight gravity weakens, and this leads to permanent drooping around the eyes and mouth, and also the eyelids. This forms into wrinkles and lines around the eyes over time. Read the rest of this entry

Under eye wrinkles and facial exercises. Make sure you combine both.

Now we know that this isn’t going to be good news, or perhaps it will. There are exercises that you can do for improving the appearance of under eye wrinkles, or what are sometimes known as crows feet.

Why will it come as bad news? Well it seems that in our want it now low effort society exercises are a dirty word. It takes time and effort to improve anything in your life by exercise, and improving facial muscles and eye wrinkles is no exception.

And you won’t see facial exercises promoted much because there’s no profit to be made from them, but regardless you can do a lot for your under eye wrinkles and crows feet by exercise, if you make the effort to do them and keep it up.

You know the wrinkles that you want to treat, those under eye wrinkles that seem to have appeared over the last few years that just weren’t there so long ago. Around the corners of your eyes, and then there’s those bags under your eyes that just seem to have appeared lately too. You really can do something about them using a combination of attacks.

They can all be helped by the use of a good under eye wrinkle cream, and that is an important part of any treatment. Just as it’s important to make sure that you pay attention to eating a good diet high in fruits and vegetables rich in antioxidants. And exercise. Of course those last 2 aren’t just for the treatment of wrinkles under your eyes, they’re important for your overall health and beauty as you age. Because wrinkles are a part of aging and anything that you can do to slow up the effects of aging has to be good.

However there are exercises you can do specifically to firm up the muscles around your eyes and improve the overall appearance of your eyes. The exercises won’t totally eliminate wrinkles, just as a good eye wrinkle cream won’t totally eliminate wrinkles, but it will all help, and all together should have a marked effect.

Good facial exercises improve blood flow around the face and eyes and help tone up our perhaps tired muscles that are feeling the effects of age.

So what are the facial toning exercises? Read the rest of this entry
